In 2003, Ivan Gligora, the founder and director, was awarded the Padua Medal from the Saint Fortunat Order, for contributions to the quality of human life.In 2005, Gligora Dairy implemented the HCCP system on the basis of meeting European standards, and thus received approval to export its products to the EU.
In May 2009, Gligora Dairy was co-financed with SAP-EUfunds for the construction and equipping of a new dairy, which was opened in January 2010.
All Gligora Dairy products were granted Kosher status by the Croatian Jewish Community.
In July 2010 we entered Paški Sir at Nantwich International Cheese Awards, the largest of its kind in the world with more than 3500 from over 30 countries. The cheese awards have been held annually for the past 113 years and in our debutant year we secured a silver medal in the organic cheese category.
The World Cheese Awards is an annually hosted international competition and the biggest of its kind in evaluating the quality of cheeses from across the globe. In November 2010 it was held in Birmingham, England where Sirana Gligora entered Paški Sir in 3 categories: Sheep Milk Cheese, New Cheese on the Market and Small Producers Cheese. In each of the 3 categories Sirana Gligora's Paški Sir was judged to be the best in class and received 3 Super Gold Medals as well as making it through to the final 10 best cheeses of the world. Our Paški Sir was then awarded the 'Barbers' Trophy for the Best New Cheese in the world after being evaluated by 10 of the most respected cheese specialists in the world. In total more than 2600 cheeses entered and were judged by more than 200 renowned judges.
To conclude an award winning year in 2010, Sirana Gligora became the winner of the CROATIAN SUPERBRANDS which was awarded by an expert jury and consumer vote in December.
